Local Enterprise Partnership

The Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Board brings together the public and private sectors, working to a shared vision for economic growth.

The LEP’s main aim is to overcome barriers to private sector growth and create more opportunities for businesses to develop and provide jobs.

The Board oversees work on:

Current work includes:

  • Encouraging businesses to realise the benefits of international trade, and investment in skills through targeted campaigns
  • Boosting the City Region’s capacity to attract inward investment
  • Helping SMEs find the support they need to grow by creating an online directory, bringing together information about free business support in one place
  • Helping local businesses unlock finance from the Regional Growth Fund and our own Growing Places Fund
  • Exploiting the opportunities of a low carbon economy
